S. C. Ashcroft was Professor Emeritus, Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. He was engaged in teaching, research and service in local day and residential school programs for blind students and preparing teachers for more than 45 years. He was founder and first Director of the Department of Educational Research at the American Printing House for the Blind where he was engaged in research on reading in braille. LaRhea Sanford, Ed. D. is a Special Education Coordinator, Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. She has many years experience as teacher and administrator in local and residential school programs and as a long-time adjunct faculty member at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. She is widely known as an author and for her services as a consultant to state and national organizations. Alan Koenig was Professor of Special Education at Texas Tech University and taught in local day and residential school programs. He was internationally known as a teacher educator, researcher, author, and consultant. He was a member of the Braille Authority of North America and Editor of the Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness. Cay Holbrook is Professor of Special Education at The University of British Columbia, Canada. She has extensive experience and is widely known as a teacher, teacher educator, author and consultant. She is expert in selecting literacy media for students with visual impairments. |
